An elderly woman who was airlifted after a two-vehicle accident Tuesday night has been discharged from the hospital.
Officials at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene confirmed that Ellen Studdard, 85, was discharged from the hospital within the last 24 hours. Mrs. Studdard was taken to Hendricks by AirEvac Lifeteam helicopter after her passenger car was struck by a pickup on U.S. Highway 67 between Brownwood and Bangs as she attempted to turn on County Road 198.The pickup truck and passenger car collided around 7pm Tuesday night with injuries reported. The wreck shut down the east lane of traffic for more than an hour while crews worked to treat injuries and clear the scene.
AirEvac Lifeteam landed the helicopter on the highway to transport Mrs. Studdard.
