The Brown County Commissioners court met on Monday morning in their regular scheduled meeting.
Commissioners briefly discussed the use of fireworks over the New Year holiday. Due to the recent wet weather, all commissioners present agreed that there was no need to restrict any firework use so no action was taken.
Commissioners also approved numerous tax resale deeds by the Brown County Appraisal District on Monday. The sales of multiple properties to multiple buyers totaled more than $85,000. These properties were sold to pay off back taxes owed by the previous owners.
In other action taken
-Commissioners approved 6 employee changes requested by the Brown County Sheriff’s office.
-Commissioners approved spending approximately $2000 to pay a company called Scantiva for image conversion of older records into their NetData system. Several volumes of records were lost in the original conversion and are not available in digital format.
-The County Clerk’s office presented new state legislation that requires the increase of certain county fees such as a technology fee and various other fees now required by law to take effect January 1st 2010.
