Brown County Precinct 1 crews began repair work on Stephen F. Austin Drive today that may cause some drivers to use detours.
The repairs will necessitate the closing of through-traffic for approximately 4 to 6 weeks, and there will be detours around the section being worked on at that time.
The county will be removing and replacing all the utility cuts and leveling the railroad crossings from the 4-way stop at 14th Street, west to the city limit at Ledsome Welding. This will be completed in sections, the first being in front of Performance Pipe.
