One competition that will be featured at the 2009 Brownwood Reunion Celebration is the 5K run which seems to generate increased interest year over year.
The 2009 5K run features a new route this year that takes contestants though downtown Brownwood, around the Lehnis Railroad Museum, by Howard Payne University, and the Brown County Court House.
This years run is set to start Saturday, Septmber 19th with check-in at 7am, group stretching at 7:30am, and a 8am start time. The starting line will be near the Lehnis Railroad Museum at the corner of Congress & E. Adams St.
Entry fee is $20 per person and $25 for those who wait until race day and there are multiple age brackets. Groups, organizations or businesses can also form teams. The first 3 places in each age group, overall male and female winner, and winning team will receive awards.
