Cosme Hinojosa, a longtime resident of Brownwood, died Monday, December 9, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 17, 1941, in Comstock, Texas, to Pablo and Margarita Hinojosa.
Cosme is survived by his children; a son-in-law, Mike; a sister, Maria Sauceda; brothers, Jose, Florencio, and Emilio; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Abelino.
Cosme served in the U.S. Army before marrying the love of his life, Maria de los Angeles. They had two children, Daisy and Gabriel. They were married until her death in 1987.Cosme was an active member at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed the company of his family, friends, and his beloved pets.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday with rosary to begin at 7 p.m. at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2013, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brownwood, Texas. Interment will follow in Jordan Springs Cemetery, with military honors.
