Brownwood News – Brandon Batch today announced his candidacy for Texas’s 11th Congressional District. District 11 covers much of West Texas including the cities of Midland, Odessa, San Angelo, Andrews, Brownwood, and Granbury. The seat is currently held by Republican Mike Conaway who recently announced he will not seek re-election.
According to the news release announcing his candidacy, Batch was born in Odessa and raised in Midland. When his mother passed away due to complications from multiple sclerosis, the community of West Texas rallied behind him and his siblings. He was taken in by a Midland family who raised him as one of their own. With their support, guidance, and his unwavering Christian faith, Brandon excelled in both school and football, ultimately receiving an athletic collegiate scholarship, the release states.
Upon graduating from Texas Tech, Batch went to Washington, D.C. and served in the office of Texas Republican Congressman Michael McCaul, then-Chairman of House Homeland Security Committee. Following his departure from Washington, Batch joined his brother to start a now-successful family-run business.
