U.S. Congressman Mike Conaway visited Brownwood Monday afternoon for a town hall style meeting at VFW Post 3278.  Conaway discussed foreign affairs, taxing, the current state of the economy and the upcoming election. Conaway also opened the floor up for questions and discussion.

With the November presidential election coming up, most of the citizen’s questions and comments were focused toward the election and Governor Romney. Conaway spoke to how he felt about Romney and his hopes for November.

“Look at Romney’s track record, unlike Obama’s track record, Romney’s track record is that he does what he says,” said Conaway. “He went into the Olympics in Utah when it was about bankrupt and was going to bankrupt the entire Olympic system worldwide, and when he walked away, we had a successful Olympics in Utah, and $100 million in the Olympic system. He went to Massachusetts and did what he said he was going to do.”

The VFW presented Conaway with military t-shirt which honors all who served, prisoners of war and those missing in action.
