Lack of suitable housing options in Brownwood is a top concern for major employers and people moving to Brownwood for work, retirement, and college. The Brownwood Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) has posted a short survey to identify what kind of housing is needed at www.brownwoodbusiness.com. The survey is in electronic and paper form and will be available through February 11th.
Everyone who completes the survey will be entered in a drawing for a 32” LG TV.
Results of the survey will be provided to builders, developers, and other real estate professionals. “The goal of the survey is to show what kind of housing needs are not being met in the Brownwood area,” stated Emily Crawford, Director of the BEDC. “We hear testimonials of the challenges new residents face when relocating to Brownwood, but have no data to support a demand for more housing options.” The survey is a tool to measure housing demand and ideally stimulate residential development.Paper surveys are available by contacting the BEDC at 325-646-1637, by emailing rwilley@ci.brownwood.tx.us or by downloading the survey on www.brownwoodbusiness.com. Paper surveys may be returned to the BEDC office at City Hall at 501 Center Ave. or the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce at 600 Depot St. by February 11th.
