ChristmasBallAs the closing weeks of October have arrived, the focus for many stores, organizations, and the city will be the upcoming holidays.

The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for Christmas in a big way with new displays and decorations for the city of Brownwood along with some new holiday activities.

Chamber Membership Director Sharon Hannah explained at last Friday’s Chamber luncheon that new Christmas decorations are being produced for Downtown Brownwood along with some “giant lighted displays” that will go up near the Depot.

These all new decorations and displays are being custom made by local manufacturing companies.  They should be ready to decorate the town by Thanksgiving weekend.

The Chamber is also bringing the first ever Christmas Festival to Brownwood this year.

Following the annual Christmas Parade on December 4th, the Christmas Festival will be open at Depot Plaza and across the street from the Train Museum behind the Red Cross building.

The Christmas Festival will be complete with food vendors, lots of activities for the kids, Christmas Village, Decorated Christmas Tree Contest, Fire pit, music, Christmas Carrols, “Road to Bethlehem” live nativity by Aldersgate Enrichment Center, character pictures, Santa at the Train Museum, and much, much more!

The Christmas Festival plants to be open on Friday December 4th 7pm-10pm and Saturday December 5th 5pm-10pm

The Chamber is looking for non-profit organizations to participate by offering a booth and activity at the Festival.  There is no cost involved for non-profits to participate.
