commissionercourtarticlepicBrown County Commissioners met Monday morning with a short agenda including consideration of a burn ban, installation of a communication line, and an employee change at the Sheriff’s office.

After a very brief discussion, all commissioners agreed that every precinct in the county was in good condition and it was not necessary to put a burn ban into effect.  County Judge Ray West will place the consideration of the burn ban on next week’s agenda.

In other business, commissioners did approve an employee change requested by the Sheriff’s Office.  Chief Deputy Bobby Duvall of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office also presented the jail report to the commissioners.  He stated that the jail currently had 176 inmates with 196 being capacity of Brown County Jail.  In the coming weeks, the Sheriff’s Office will be providing the court an analysis of the jail, including population issues.

Commissioners also approved the installation of a communications line on County Road 433.
