Brownwood News – Brown County Commissioners held a Public Workshop at 10:00 am Monday with two communication equipment consultant/engineers from Dallas who are looking into the county-wide Communications Center, equipment and related issues of radio transmission coverage for fire and sheriff’s departments.

The consultant told Commissioners, as it’s broken down right now, the County’s part of the bill, if the County chooses to use their consultancy, would be $28,000 for the first phase.  The City of Brownwood is to pay $24,000, City of Bangs $2,000 and City of Early $2,000.

County Judge, Dr. Paul Lilly, said County Sheriff Vance Hill would meet with the consultants then brief Commissioners later.

Present were Commissioners, representatives from the City of Early and representatives from various fire departments in the county.  Several of that group were going to visit with the consultant after the workshop.
