Brownwood News – The research-based Diabetes Prevention Program starts Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Comanche County Medical Center (CCMC).

The year-long lifestyle intervention program is based on the National Diabetes Prevention Program created in 2010. The program is evidence-based and cost-effective helping to prevent diabetes. It focuses on healthy eating and activity; participants cut their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by approximately 58% (71% for people over 60 years of age).

Participants commit to a weekly, one-hour session every Tuesday in one of two sessions offered, at 2:00 pm or 5:30 pm. Both meetings are held in the CCMC Cafeteria Meeting Rooms at the hospital at 10201 TX-16, Comanche.
