ScottColleneFuneral Services for Collene Scott, Age 80, of Early, Texas will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Early, Texas with Bill Slaymaker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Connell Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.   Mrs. Scott passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at her residence.

Collene who was known as “Pete” to all her family was born on November 30, 1934 on the family farm in Hico, Texas to James Ralph and Esther Irene Martin Connally Sr.  Collene met the love of her life Joe Scott in Fort Worth, Texas and they were married on August 14, 1951 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. They moved from Fort Worth to Early in 1960 where they owned and operated their concrete contracting business.  Joe and Collene supported many organizations throughout the years and greatly influenced and supported many children in Brown County. Collene was a strong, devoted, loving wife and mother.  She will be greatly missed by all her family and many friends.

Survivors include her son Terry Don Scott and wife Sonja of Deleon, Texas, daughters Vicky Rene Gammill and husband O.E. of Blanket, Texas and Letitia Gayle Mabry and husband Larry of Gypsum, Colorado.  Eight grandchildren Brandon Meeks, Noelani Simpson, Amber Boswell, Joe Benningfield, Cody Benningfield, Jacob Scott and Ashley Moore and Mason McDonald.  Twenty Seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; three brothers Sam Connally and wife Patricia of Boyd, Texas, Danny Connally and wife Susan of Lubbock, Texas, Rick Connally and wife Dana of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; one sister Linda Wright of Brownfield, Texas and by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joe Scott on February 6, 2015, her parents, two brothers Jimmy and Joe David Connally and one sister Peggy Perkins.
