Stuart Coleman, longtime board member on the Brown County Water Improvement District board, submitted his letter of resignation citing health reasons for his departure.
Board President Mark Campbell said that the board will formally accept his resignation at next month’s board meeting.
“It will be with heavy hearts and regret that we will see Stuart no longer serving on this board,” Campbell said. “Incredible service to the district and we are certainly going to miss him.”
The board will be planning some kind of recognition for Coleman in the near future.
“He spent 40 years on the board, not only was he on the board of directors for Brown County Water District, he was on the Region F Planning board, he was on the state water board, he has been involved in water forever,” said BCWID General Manager Dennis Spinks.
Coleman served 40 years on the board and has been instrumental in implementing projects through the district over his four decades of service.
“He will be impossible to replace,” Campbell said.
State law requires that the board appoint someone to fill Coleman’s unexpired term on the board which ends in 2016. The board will have 60 days to make the appointment.
