brownwoodlionslogoBrownwood High School coaches, headed by Athletic Director Bob Shipley are working together to help one of their students in need.  BHS Sophomore Josh Hernandez was paralyzed in a vehicle accident earlier this year.  To help out, the BHS coaches are holding a benefit auction on August 2 from 1-5 at the Adam’s Street Community Center in Brownwood.

The coaches and staff are asking for help from local businesses and individuals to donate items to the auction.  Athletic Secretary Lisa Jaso said,”Businesses such as Doc’s Drugstores, Burke’s Outlet and Texas Bank have donated items.  Several individuals have also donated.”

Some auction items already donated include an autographed jersey by Pete Rose, autographed items from the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys and several other teams.  There will be items of interest for men, woman and children.

To donate an item or money you can call the Brownwood High School athletic office at 646-0703 or you can drop your items by the office.  Monetary donations can also be mailed to the Brownwood Athletic Office, PO Box 816, Brownwood, TX  76804.  Make checks payable to Josh Hernandez Benefit Fund.  All funds are to be used to help purchase a handicapped accessible van for Josh and his family.
