Clois Marie Cox, 73, of Early, Texas passed away on Saturday March 8, 2014 surrounded by her family in Fort Worth, Texas.
Born June 16, 1940 in Coleman County to Alfred and Thelma Cullins, Clois is survived by her husband of 34 years Edwin D. Cox, her three children, Jerrilyn and Raymond Powell, Rick and Michelle Sparks and David Sparks of Fort Worth, by six grandchildren, Megan and Adam Richardson, Mandi Powell, Caleb and Anessa Sparks, Becky and Irene Sparks and four great grandchildren Reese Richardson, JJ Hernandez, Drew and Alan Barrera. She is also survived by five siblings, Edmond Cullins of San Antonio, Texas, Joyce Ralston of Brownwood, Texas, Glenda Gassiot of Valera, Texas, Freddie and Ellen Cullins of Houston, Texas and Velda and Sam Johnson of Cleburne, Texas, as well as dozens of nieces and nephews.
Clois graduated from Santa Anna High School and worked at Safeway. She owned Ma’s Closet in Brownwood, Texas for several years making friends with everyone she met along the way. Never knowing a stranger, her big heart and generosity were known by everyone’s life she touched. Her joy in life was being surrounded by her family and friends and being able to spread sunshine to everyone she met.
Clois will be remembered by family and friends at a memorial service at Heartland Funeral Home in Early, Texas on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at 2:00pm. Family visitation will be held Monday evening, March 10, 2014, from 6:00-8:00pm at Heartland Funeral Home.
