Cloda Ann Stearns Taylor Grove, age 77, of Haltom City and formerly of Brown County, died Saturday morning at her home in Haltom City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Santa Anna Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
She was born May 2, 1935, in Coleman County, the daughter of the late Harley and Jewell James Stearns. She attended schools at Brooksmith and later graduated from Santa Anna High School. She attended college later. She was married to O. T. Taylor on June 9, 1952, and he preceded her in death on September 19, 1975. She later was married to Bud Groves in April of 1981 and he preceded her in death in 1991. She was raised in Coleman County and moved to Haltom City in 1952. She worked for AARP pharmacy and was a Baptist. She had attended the Trickham Community Church prior to moving from Coleman County. She was a former member of the Colbert Eastern Star.
She is survived by a daughter, Pamela N. Taylor Steele and husband Tommy of Waxahachie, Texas; two grandchildren, Chris Steele and wife Angela of Haltom City and Tina Bridges and husband Mike of Waxahachie; four great-grandchildren, Jessica and Kourtney Steele, and Gabriel and Madeline Bridges; a great-great-grandchild, Kylie Steele; brother, Harley Stearns of North Richland Hills; four sisters, Estelle Griffin of Richland Hills, Geneva Lykins of Hurst, Dorothy Dupree of Colbert, Okla., and Oda Key of Haltom City; four nieces; and eight nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, O.T. Taylor and Bud Groves; a brother, Pat Stearns; and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Ethan Bridges.
