Cliff was born on May 25, 1914 to Orville and Elizabeth (Betty) Stevens and departed this earth at the age of 101 on November 25, 2015.   He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters – Grace Casey, Alice Glaze and Flora Mae Gatlin.  Cliff’s beloved wife of 67 years – Marie – passed away on December 12, 2013.

Cliff is survived by two sons – Alan, and his wife Nancy of Flower Mound, Texas, and Robert and his wife Leslie, soon to be residents of Coleman after a career with Texas A&M in College Station.  In addition, there are five grandchildren – Dana, Jennifer (and her husband Matt Webb), Katherine (and her fiancé Oliver Dye), Matthew, and Nick.  Cliff is also survived by two wonderful great grandkids – Alex and Maddie.

A decorated veteran of World War II, Cliff returned to his hometown of Coleman after the war, married Marie and began a lifelong adventure in the farming and ranching business.  He finally stopped farming and sold his last Longhorn at the age of 93.

Cliff was also blessed with many other members of his extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends from Coleman and the surrounding areas.  The family would also like to thank his caregiver for the past two years, Sandra McWhirter, and commend the staff at Coleman Health Care Center for the tremendous care he received over the past 9 months.

Funeral service with Military Honors for Cliff will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Bob Martin officiating.  Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.  Visitation with family will be from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the funeral home.
