Cliff Waddell, Jr., age 68, of Early passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018, at home surrounded by his family.
A Memorial Service for Cliff will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Ailshie officiating; interment will be private at a later date. Arrangements are under the Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Cliff was born to Cliff, Sr. and Clara (Beall) Waddell on February 21, 1950, in Galveston, Texas. He graduated from Texas City in 1968. Cliff married the love of his life, Teresa Hill Waddell, on August 11, 1976.
Cliff was a “Jack of all Trades” and did a little bit of everything; he owned a refrigeration company from 1974-1978, he was a chef, D.J./ broadcaster, carpenter, farmer and rancher, and owned a western wear store to name a few. He was also a licensed minister. Cliff’s main profession was being a Real Estate Broker, he has owned Heart of Texas Real Estate from 1981-1988, then 2000 to present.
Cliff was involved in the community serving on various community boards such as, President for Early Chamber of Commerce in 1986; President for CASA from 2002-2003; President Elect for Rotary Club 2004-2005; and Area Chair for Ducks Unlimited.
He loved to fish and spend time down at the coast. But most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Cliff is survived by his mother, Clara Turner of Hico; his wife of 41 years, Teresa Waddell of Early; children, Alicia Waddell of Broken Arrow, OK, Sonya Pittman of Arlington, Cliff Waddell, III and wife Desiree of Brownwood, and Ricky Waddell of Early; 8 grandchildren, Sadie, Kallie, Dean, Caleb, Lexi, Landon, Madison, and Mya; 1 great-grandson, Seger; 2 brothers, Clint Waddell and Chris Waddell both of Texas City; and sister, Cheryl Mitcham of Hico. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cliff Waddell, Sr.
