EarlyCityCouncilThe Early city council adopted an ordinance that will increase water tap fees for new service from $350 to $500.

The increase will only apply to new tap installations and Ken Thomas, city administrator, said the increase is to cover the cost of the new meters.

In other business, the council approved annexing 127 Allen Drive, a 2.32 acre tract, into the city and tabled a request by Les and Sue Rush to replace an irrigation water line on Canal Street that was ripped up when the street was widened. The council tabled the request after some discussion to get an estimate on the cost of replacing the line.

The council also took no action on a recommendation of the planning and zoning commission concerning a special use permit to place a mobile home at 113 Salt Creek Drive in order to correct the wording on the agenda to match what was approved at the planning & zoning meeting.
