A one-vehicle rollover accident at Williams Ranch Road and FM 2126 sent the driver and two passengers to the hospital.
Around 3:45 Tuesday afternoon, a City of Early sanitation truck was traveling east on FM 2125 (Williams Ranch Road) when it attempted a right turn onto FM 2126 where it overturned in the middle of the intersection injuring its three occupants.
Early Police, Fire Volunteer Department, Department of Public Safety Troopers, and Guardian EMS responded to the scene. The AirEvac Life Team was called to the scene and cancelled just as they were about to land on the highway as the three were transported by ground ambulance to Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
According to Texas DPS Troopers on the scene, the rate of speed of the sanitation truck could not be determined although it appeared the truck may have taken the turn too fast when it rolled. The trooper also said that the truck was top-heavy with a full load of garbage and possibly caused it to roll as it attempted to make the turn.
The truck was headed to the Brownwood Landfill according to Early City Administrator Ken Thomas who was on scene to check on his employees.
