The City of Early released the following Public Service Announcement:
City of Early experienced damage to one of its meter reading transmitters and internet antennas in September. As a result, some City of Early water customers may be seeing higher water bills this month than last month.
The seemingly higher water bills are actually a ‘catch up’ from the missed readings for the previous month. Due to the damages the automated system was not receiving or transmitting all the meter readings consistently; once repairs were made all the missed reads were collected and transmitted to the central system at one time.The damage and the repairs occurred over two billing cycles and therefore customers experienced water bills showing lower water usage and billing last month. We apologize for any inconvenience and confusion this incident has caused. Please call City Hall with any questions or for more information.
