Brownwood News – The following report was released Monday, October 29, by the Early Police Department.

On Sunday October 27th at approximately 9am Sgt Brandon McMillian conducted a traffic stop on Early Blvd near FM 3100 for an expired registration sticker. During the stop Sgt McMillian began noticing numerous signs of nervousness and other suspicious circumstances. Sgt McMillian brought out K9 Jambo who conducted a free-air search around the outside of the vehicle. Jambo alerted to the car indicating a drug substance was inside the vehicle. Jambo is trained to alert on Marijuana, Methamphetamines, Heroin and Cocaine. Sgt McMillian then searched the vehicle and located methamphetamines inside the vehicle. Both the driver Denise Gay Jones and passenger Rocky Allen Hasty were arrested and charged with possession of Controlled substance (Methamphetamines). Both were taken to the Brown County Jail.

On October 24th Officers responded to an apartment in the 1000 block of Early BLvd where an anonymous caller reported a 4-year-old child left alone in an apartment. Officers arrived and began checking the area when a female arrived. Officers did discover a 4-year-old child left alone in the apartment. Officers notified Child protective services and completed an investigation that will be forwarded to the District attorney’s office.

Fire Call in 100 Blk Salt Creek

Suicide attempt in 100 block of Northline

Fire Call in 100 Blk Early BLvd

Illegal Dumping in 1200 Blk Eastwind

Accident, agency assist. Truck hit Railroad overpass

Accident FM 3100 and Early Blvd.

Noise Nuisance in 100 Blk Buffalo trail

Prowler in 100 Blk McDonald Dr

Accident Highway 183 south just outside City Limit, 18-wheeler jack knifed

Accident in 200 Blk Early BLvd
