The Brownwood Police Department welcomed their newest officer, Patrick Weaver, as he took the Oath of Office and Law Enforcement Oath of Honor on Tuesday, December 8th during the Brownwood City Council meeting.
Officer Weaver recently joined the BPD force, and took the oaths. His badge was ceremoniously pinned by Sergeant Troy Carroll.
“This is a special day today, Patrick is our newest officer to be sworn in,” said BPD Chief Mike Corley as he explained that the department prefers to take their oaths and be sworn in during a public forum because it reminds the officers who they work for and because it is a special event, which should be held in a special place. “We are especially blessed to have Weaver with us. He is going to be a great officer and I am excited about him coming to work for us. I think he is right where he needs to be, where you in the community want him to be and we are very proud to have him.”
