Brownwood City Council approved an Order of General Election, setting a date of May 9, 2015, during Tuesday’s meeting of the council.
The election will be held between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Council positions of Ward 2, Ward 3 and Ward 5 are up for election. These positions are currently held respectively by Eddie Watson, Carl McMillan, and Jerry DeHay.
Notice of the election will be posted at the required locations, City Hall bulletin boards, the city website, and at the Adams Street Community Center, and is required to be published once between April 9-29, 2015 in the newspaper, according to a council briefing sheet.Those interested in running for these council positions may file for election between January 28 and February 27, 2015.
