In honor of a job well done, Mayor Stephen Haynes presented Brownwood City Engineer Jodie Kelly a certificate recognizing her completion of a Certified Floodplain Manager class through Texas A & M University.
Through this course, Kelly learned how to manage floodplains, manage resources within a floodplain, and how to educate those who live in flood plains of the precautions and risks of living within such.
There were 35 students enrolled in the class, but only 27 passed the course.
Kelly had a great performance scoring a grade of 92 which was the highest grade of her class.
