Brownwood News – Citizens National Bank recently held their annual Shareholders meeting in Brownwood. Chairman of the Board, Calvin Fryar and President John P. Guest announced the following new officers and positions.

 

 

Cindy Musick was elected Vice President and Controller. Musick began her career with CNB in March of 1980 after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Angelo State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. After working various positions, she advanced to assistant cashier in 1985, and then progressed to controller in 1991. She is married to Paul Musick and they have 2 children, Meagan and Matthew and 2 grandchildren.

David Sheffield was elected to Vice President. Sheffield is a graduate of Bangs High School and Howard Payne University. He is married to Amanda Sheffield, who is a teacher and coach at Santa Anna ISD.  They have three children, Corinne who is 8 years old, Scout 3, and Hap 2 years old. Sheffield is actively involved in the Brownwood Girls Softball Association where he serves as treasurer and is a coach for a select softball organization called Glory.  Sheffield has served on the Board of the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce for the past two years. He has been employed with Citizens National Bank for 4 years. He and his wife are active members at Salt Creek Baptist Church in Early.

Dawn Bennett was elected to Assistant Cashier. Bennett began her banking career while attending Bangs High School at age 17. She has over twenty years total experience in the banking industry. She has proven to be an asset as she has worked in various positions such as bookkeeping, as a teller and as a supervisor. Bennet is married to Jason Bennett and they have one 13 year old daughter, Jillian. Bennett has served on the Bangs City Council and Board of Directors for the Brown County Fair Association.

Brenda Vernon was elected to Assistant Cashier. Vernon graduated from Early High School.  She began working at Citizens National Bank in 2006. She has 22 years of banking experience in various positons including   teller, supervisor, auditor, manager and her favorite- new accounts supervisor. Her background and friendly greetings have allowed her to cultivate new client relationships with both individuals and businesses as she opens new accounts. She is married to Bennie and they have one daughter, Katie, who is a teacher in Brady. Vernon serves on The Board at Family Services Center.

Newly elected officers are Debora Castaneda to Banking Officer, Janet Clough to Banking Officer, James Crow to Banking Officer and Will Locke to IT Officer/IT Security Officer.

Debora Castaneda moved to Brownwood in 1986 and graduated from Brownwood High School the same year. She has 25 years of experience in the financial services. She joined CNB in 1998. Castaneda is the Branch Manager located inside Walmart where she manages 5 employees. Castaneda has one son, Mark Castaneda, who graduated from Brownwood High School and University of North Texas. Castaneda attends Primera Iglesia Bautista and is a member of Brown County Hispanic Womens Association.

Janet Clough has worked in the banking industry for over 20 years. She and her husband relocated to Brownwood 1 ½ years ago when her husband joined Howard Payne University as a football coach. Clough came to Citizens National Bank shortly thereafter.  They have two children, a son, DJ, who is an airline pilot in Denver, CO, and a daughter, Susan, who is a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room in Washington DC.  Clough oversees the CNB Motor Bank.

James Crow, Loan Officer, grew up in Brownwood and graduated from Brownwood High School in 2012. He graduated from Howard Payne University with honors in May of 2017. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. While at HPU, he was a member of Sigma Beta Delta and Phi Beta Lambda. He is currently enrolled in HPU’s Master of Business Administration program and will graduate this December. He and his wife Hanna reside in Brownwood.

Will Locke moved to Brownwood in 2012 from Kerrville, Texas to attend Howard Payne University where he played football for 4 years and was a member of lota Chi Alpha, IXA. In 2016 he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Information Systems. Locke is married to Morenci and they have one son, Xander Locke. Locke began working at CNB in 2014.

Other officers include John P. Guest, President and CEO, Keith Clark, Executive Vice President and Cashier, Bobby W. Boatright, Executive Vice President, Tully Hair, Sr. Vice President, Mary Barnes, Vice President of Mortgage Lending, Margaret Pritchard, Assistant Cashier, and Nancy Price, Assistant Cashier.

Chairman of the Board Calvin Fryar said, “We are proud to have such an outstanding staff that focuses on customer service.” President John P. Guest remarked that Citizens National Bank is unique in the industry to have such dedicated long term employees.

The Board of Directors include Calvin Fryar, Chairman of the Board, John P. Guest, President, Darwin Boscamp, President Emeritus, Keith Clark, Steve Fryar, Tim Nabers, Robert G. Porter, Carter Sharpe,  A.L. Speck, D.V.M. and Leesa Speck Dempsey.
