Brown County Sheriff’s Office will present a Certificate of Valor to Vick Stacy at Brown County Commissioners’ Court on Monday for his heroic actions at the Peach House RV Park last July.
The then 66-year-old Stacy is the “resident shooter” at the Peach House RV Park July 29, 2012 who took heroic actions by shooting the gunman as he shot at Early Police Sergeant Steven Means during the Peach House murders. The gunman had already taken the lives of two other residents at the park.
At a press conference the day after the incident, Sheriff Grubbs commended Stacy for his actions. Law enforcement officials determined that Stacy acted valiantly and perhaps saved the lives of Sgt. Means and responding deputies, Grubbs said.“His actions may have also saved the lives of other citizens who could have innocently walked into the situation,” said Grubbs. “It appears that law enforcement and the citizens of Brown County owe a debt of gratitude toward this man for his courage to act.”
The presentation will take place on Monday, March 11th at 9 AM at the Brown County Commissioners’ Court.
