Thursday afternoon, approximately 3:30 pm, Citibank of Brownwood, located at 1602 Austin Avenue was robbed. The robber walked into the bank with a note that demanded money and then took off with the cash. The suspect was last seen in a nearby alley. Police were searching the nearby neighborhood for the suspect on Thursday afternoon.
Sergeant Troy Carroll of the Brownwood Police Department said that they are seeking the suspect who is currently at large and is described as a black male wearing a black thigh length quilted coat, dark jeans, white sneakers, white sun shades, approximately 5′ 5″ tall, weighing between 125-140 pounds.
The suspect was unarmed during the robbery and is not considered a threat to the public.
Carroll said that the case is being turned over to the FBI and an agent will be in Brownwood on Friday morning.
