The Heart of Texas Baptist Camp will be hosting a church safety seminar on Tuesday, November 13th from 8:30am until 2:00pm. Heart of Texas Baptist Camp is located at 8025 N. FM 2125 near Lake Brownwood.
The cost of the seminar is $10 per person and includes admittance to the seminar and morning coffee break. A lunch will be offered for an additional $7 for those who pre-register for the meal.
Speaker Jimmy Meeks has over 30 years in law enforcement experience and is a licensed and ordained minister. He is an accomplished speaker on the subject of church safety and is very passionate about this subject. His seminars have been attended by over 700 churches.
Meeks is said to be able to break down the barriers that keep churches from starting a safety program. He has chronicled the events and the lives of the men who stood in the gap at one of the first recorded church shootings which occurred in Dangerfield, Texas (where he and his wife were married).
Meeks will present both stories and stats that will simply astound you, said organizers of the event.
