Funeral service for Christopher Paul “Chris” Burch 37, of Brownwood, formerly of Taft California, will be held at 11 AM on Monday, December 12, at the Abundant Life Church with Pastor Dean Banks officiating, and under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, December 11, at the funeral home, Netherton Funeral Home of Brownwood is in charge of the arrangements.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 16, in the West Side District Cemetery in Taft California. A Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday December 15, at Erickson & Brown Funeral Home at 501 Lucard Street in Taft California.
Mr. Burch passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2011, from injuries sustained in an oilfield accident near Rising Star.
Christopher Paul Burch was born on June 27, 1974, in Taft California. He married Debra Ann Hagans on April 1, 2005, in Bakersfield California. Together, they made their home in Taft, before moving to Brownwood in 2009. He enjoyed fishing, and was a motorcycle enthusiast. Chris was also a volunteer at the Lake Brownwood Bridge Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Abundant Life Church in Brownwood.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Debra Hagans of Brownwood; stepchildren, Teresa and Randy Totty of Tulsa Oklahoma, Christy and Bryan Dickey of Oxnard California, and Michael George of Taft; his mother, Bobbie Garcia and husband Dale, of Taft; his dad, Neal Burch of Bakersfield California; his father Michael Cowperthwaite and wife Kathy of Vernon Texas. He is also survived by his sister, Carroll Ann Pauley and husband Norman, his grandmother Lorraine Hammond, and his Uncle, Jim Hammond, all of Taft California and 8 step-grandchildren.
Chris also leaves behind some very special friends, Brett and Susan Hathcock and Kody and Amy Hathcock, all of Bryson Texas, Chantene Hathcock, Marta Wilson and David and Jeannie Hathcock and Boe Wilson, all of Sonora California, and Betty and Ronald Bates all of Waco.
Chris will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
