The 2nd annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival came to a close Saturday night, and kids, teens, and adults enjoyed another year of holiday fun.
One highlight of the activities on Saturday was the fear factor style scavenger hunt designed for youth. The activity held at the festival on Howard Payne Campus led the participates on a hunt for specific items around campus and then on a series of what some would call “gross” activities such as eating cooked cow tongue, pig intestines, livers, and pickled pig’s feet to name a few.
After conquering these challenges, three teens won prizes for their efforts including a new Apple iPad for first place. (Winners pictured from left to right – first place, Mason McLaughlin; third place, Callie Campbell; and second place, Luke Broussard ).
HPU’s outdoor recreation center was also open for youth to climb the rock wall, roller skate, and play video games.
An array of other kid’s activities was available at Howard Payne campus along with some great food and live entertainment.
The Lehnis Railroad Museum also hosted several holiday events for the Christmas Under the Stars Festival. The all new attraction was unveiled named “Buster World” with interactive features that kids loved. There was also some great train displays and of course photos with Santa.
