Howard_Payne_logosmallHoward Payne University theatre students will re-imagine a classic Christmas carol during their production of “Walking with Wenceslas,” written by Nick Ewen, assistant professor of theatre at HPU.

Proceeds from the sale of tickets will be used to send the students to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland, where they have been invited to perform next summer.

“The play is about 50 minutes long and retells the story of the famous old Christmas carol ‘Good King Wenceslas,’” Ewen said. “It’s a great play for kids, families, church groups and more.”

The show will be performed at the HPU Theatre, on the corner of Clark Street and Whaley Street in Brownwood. Show times are Sunday, Dec. 11, at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Monday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m.; and Dec. 12, 13 and 14 at 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
