Big Brothers Big Sisters enriches, encourages and empowers children to reach their highest potential through a safe, positive mentoring relationship. Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is about making a lasting difference in a child’s life through friendship.
This week Big Brothers Big Sisters would like to introduce Christian. She’s a friendly, outgoing 12-year-old who would like a Big Sister to cook, sew and make things with. This energetic and fun child also enjoys movies, going on picnics and swimming. Christian’s ideal Big Sister is someone who she can share activities with while having fun.
You don’t have to change your life to change someone else’s; it just takes something small, such as sharing your time. Currently there are 26 children waiting to be matched with a caring and safe mentor. Volunteers can serve as a “Big Brother”, “Big Sister”, “Big Couple” or even “Big Family”.
To become a “Big” please contact the Big Brothers Big Sisters office at 325-643-5600 or come by and visit with us at 901 Ave. B in Brownwood. The Big Brothers Big Sisters is a United Way agency supported by local donors.
