Christian Comedian Jamey Ragle was the featured speaker Thursday evening at the Howard Payne University Mabee Center Bullion Suites. The event was organized by KPSM and KBUB Christian Radio in Brownwood and sponsored by the Brownwood Jaycees. Station Manager Christian McDaniel said, “the event was to bring the area Pastors together in unity…to unite the various Christian ministries, hopefully crossing any denominational boundaries. The goal is to unite the churches efforts in bringing God’s message of salvation, despite any so-called ‘perceived’ differences” in theology. I mean we’re all Christians, preaching and teaching Salvation through Jesus Christ, and that’s the bottom line isn’t it?”
The evening meals and entertainment was free of charge to pastors and the spouses, provided by Sodexo Food Service.
After the featured event, McDaniel spoke extensively about the cooperative efforts between the radio stations and the area churches. Many of the attending Pastors commented that it was time for the churches to unite their efforts. Brian Hall, Pastor at Haven of Hope in Brownwood, commented, “this is good…good that we can all get together like this in a neutral setting and enjoy each other’s company and, at least for a time, put any differences aside.”
Brownwood veteran broadcaster Dallas Huston was recognized as one of radio’s most well known voices in the central Texas market, and applauded for his work in the ministry.
Jamie Ragle’s “For Real, For Real” is broadcast several times daily on KBUB-FM 90.3, and KPSM-FM 99.3.
