Christi Bible of Brownwood not only made her parenting skills even better but won a Christmas Yum-Yum Basket in the process. Bible recently completed the parenting class called Parenting Wisely at Family Services Center of Brownwood. The class was held once weekly for 10 weeks. About the class, Bible said, “It was awesome, and my teacher, Judy Bullard, was a lot of fun. I learned better listening skills and how to set consequences for my child.”

Each person who signs up for and takes one parenting class during the month is eligible to win the big prize. The more classes you attend, the more chances you have to win. The Christmas basket that Bible won included a ham, games, cookies and chocolates. January’s basket will be a Super Bowl Bonanza with everything you need to have a Super Bowl party from your own football to games, chips, peanuts, drinks, paper goods, tablecloth and much more. The deadline to sing up to win the Super Bowl Bonanza is January 23rd.

Family Services Center provides parenting classes for parents of children as well as for parents of teens. Babysitting is provided free of charge. The classes meet several times a day and most evenings at the FSC building at 901 Avenue B.  Parents of teens can opt to take an online parenting course that is monitored by the educators at FSC who teach the classes. Family Services Center serves the counties of Brown, Comanche, Coleman, Eastland, Mills, McCulloch and San Saba.

Family Services Center is funded in part by TDFPS-Texas Families: Together & Safe, United Way and private donations.
