Mrs. Mabray has served as the Llano County Attorney for twenty-three years.    As County Attorney, she represented the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services in child abuse and neglect cases.  Mrs. Mabray’s career includes serving as First Assistant District Attorney in the 33rd Judicial District, and she maintained a private practice with the Law Office of Wade Hutto.  She has served as president of the 5,000 member Texas District and County Attorneys Association, as well as serving on the State Bar of Texas grievance committee.  Mrs. Mabray was a co-founder of the Hill Country Children’s Advocacy Center, and she served on the Llano County Child Welfare Board.  She has been active over the years in training new CASA volunteers.

Mrs. Mabray succeeds the Hon. Rob Hofmann who was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the newly created 452nd Judicial District Court.  “I am excited and honored to be appointed to such an important position in which I can utilize my experience and knowledge of the system to pursue the goal of family reunification whenever possible and to facilitate what is in the best interest for children and families in these counties,” stated Mrs. Mabray.  Mrs. Mabray said, “The bar is a little higher when a person is interviewed and chosen by a panel of presiding judges.  I am thrilled the judges thought enough of me, my experience and qualifications to select me for this important position.”

“There were many applicants for this position, but Mrs. Mabray stood out as being not only extremely qualified, but also compassionate and enthusiastic about working with children and families.  The Presiding Regional Judges in the counties she will be working are happy to welcome Mrs. Mabray and we look forward to working with her,” said Judge Stubblefield.

Mrs. Mabray will be administered the oath of office by the Hon. Dan Mills, Judge of the 424th District Court, at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, in the Llano County District Courtroom
