JenningsCherylFuneral Services for Cheryl Jennings, age 67, of Zephyr, Texas will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Church of Christ in Early, Texas.  Interment will follow in the Zephyr Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cheryl Jennings went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, July 15, 2012 at her home in Zephyr, Texas.  She was born on December 26, 1944 in Elba, Alabama to Charley T. and Mary Alice Lowery Bowers. Cheryl was a long time resident of Calhoun County, Alabama. She taught 4th grade at Coldwater Elementary School and at Calhoun Detention Center. She went back to school, received her nursing degree, and worked at several nursing homes in the area including the Cleburne County Nursing Home in Heflin, Alabama. Seven years ago she married the love of her life and moved to Zephyr, Texas.

Mrs. Jennings is survived by her husband Robert Jennings, two sons Ernest Mondabaugh and wife Anissa Mondabaugh and Greg Mondabaugh of Anniston, Alabama; step daughter Elizabeth Gonzales and husband Derlis Gonzales of Toronto, Canada, four grandsons, Sean Mondabaugh, Bryan Mondabaugh, Justin Parsons of Anniston, Alabama, Joel Parsons of Huntsville, Alabama; sisters Charlene Bright and husband Charles Bright of Eastaboga, Alabama and Violet Holland and husband Steve Holland of Oxford, Alabama. Three nieces Kristen Johnson and husband Neil Johnson of Jacksonville, Alabama, Kammie Stringer of Oxford, Alabama, April Audit and nephew Johnathan Shaver of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Three great nieces Mallory Stringer, Lauren and Lindsey Johnson, three great nephews Logan Johnson, Garrett Faucet and Jaden Audit.

Cheryl was a great mom and grandmother who had a great love for all of her relatives and friends. She was a fervent Christian and a member of the Early Church in Christ in Early, Texas. By the time her two sons had graduated from high school, she was well versed in football. During the fall, everyone knew she was a loyal fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Cheryl was always compassionate, forgiving and helped people in need.

She is now completely healed and has everlasting peace in Heaven.
