Brownwood News – This year the Chatfield Assisted Living facility’s Tour of Trees will feature 40 uniquely decorated Christmas trees, a record number for the annual event. What began with just 10 trees in 2010 has grown over the years as local businesses and organizations step up to contribute.
The Chatfield Assisted Living facility welcomes the community to attend their Holiday Open House to kick off their 7th annual Tour of Trees on Sunday, December 3rd from 2 to 4 p.m. at 1605 Calvert Road, across from the Brownwood Middle School. The Holiday Open House will feature a dessert buffet and holiday beverages. Pictures with Santa, sponsored by Walgreens, will also be available.
The Heavenly Ringers, a senior adult handbell group from San Angelo, will be playing at The Chatfield in Brownwood on Sunday, December 3, at 2:00 PM as a part of the Christmas Open House.
The handbell group is made up of ten ringers from Christian Village, a senior living facility in San Angelo. The group was started in March of 2016 after a set of handbells was made available. Most of the ringers had never played an instrument of any kind and were not music readers at that time.
The group has as its primary purposes: 1) the opportunity for seniors to learn a music skill, and 2) performing for other senior facilities and nursing homes. The Heavenly Ringers have played eight concerts in five senior facilities, and have five Christmas concerts scheduled for this holiday season, including The Chatfield.
