On January 5, 2012 “Our Cowboy, Charley Perkins” rode away from this world into his heavenly father’s, green pastures. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, January 10, 2012, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, January 9, 2012, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
Charley was born January 22, 1943 to Willard and Berniece Hutcherson Perkins. On February 11, 1983, a marriage made in Heaven was created with Debbie Mitchell. He was blessed with 3 beautiful children, Jacade Perkins, Bo Perkins and Chaley Perkins. Charley had a great love for the outdoors. Hunting and fishing with anyone that wanted to go. He especially loved to hunt with Bo, Chaley and Dennis and fish with his grandson, Jacade.Charley’s life changed in 1986 with the death of his oldest son, Jacade. With God’s amazing love and the love of his family and friends, he made it through this difficult time. Charley was blessed with 2 beautiful grandchildren, Jacade and Haven of Kingsland, Ga. Charley’s life was spent helping children. From Cherokee Children’s Home, a home filled with foster boys, he then retired from Texas Youth Commission.
Charley is survived by his wife; Debbie, son; Bo Perkins and wife Melissa of Kingsland, Ga, daughter; Chaley Perkins of Early, grandchildren; Jacade and Haven Perkins of Kingsland, GA, his aunt; Patsy Anderson and cousin; Melanie Naylor of Early, TX. His best bud and brother- in –law; Dennis Stearns and wife Donna of Granbury, TX., sister- in –law; Dana Johnson and husband Ron Johnson of Granbury, TX, aunts; Betty Roark of Ft. Worth and Louise Leach of San Angelo. He also leaves behind his grieving Chihuahua; Tootsie. He was preceded in death by his son; Jacade Perkins, and his parents; Willard and Berniece Perkins.
