Charles Hood, 51, of Coleman, died Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Coleman County Medical Center.  A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.  His body was cremated and inurnment will be in the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

He was born Charles Wesley Hood on September 25, 1964 in Ellensburg, Washington to Dirl Dean Hood and Wanda Lee Jones Hood.  At a very young age, he moved with his family to Coleman.  He grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School in 1983.  Charles later attended Texas A&M University in College Station while pursuing an Engineering Degree.  Charles managed different restaurants in College Station, Dallas, Austin and Houston.  He also owned his own restaurant in Houston, before moving back to Coleman in 2014.

Charles is survived by three sisters, Cierra Khatib of Arvada, Colorado, Carol Weaver of Coleman, Carrie Gould of Huntsville, Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Besides his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a half-brother, Dirl Granger and a sister, Carmen Jean Hood.
