JacksonCharlesEFuneral services for Charles Elmer Jackson, age 88, of Brownwood, will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday in the Austin Avenue Church of Christ with J. Tom Washburn officiating.  Interment will follow at 3:00 PM in the Restland Cemetery in Gatesville, Texas.  The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 at the Heartland Funeral Home.  Mr.  Jackson passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 in Brownwood.

Charles Elmer was born August 29, 1927 at Straw’s Mill, Texas in Coryell County to Elmer Pharm and Ollie Belle Cole Jackson.  On May 3, 1947, he married Wilda Whisenhunt in Hamilton, Texas.  They owned and operated Roysales Company, which produced and sold music for 45 years. In 1965 they moved to Brownwood and was a member of Austin Avenue Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-nine years Wilda Jackson of Brownwood; three sons Roy Jackson of Brownwood, Clois Jackson of Brownwood, Michael Jackson and wife Lori of Brownwood; daughter-in-law Sunji Lee Garcia of San Antonio; grandchildren Kimberly Van Meter and husband Todd of Lakeland, Florida, Robert, Matthew and David Jackson of Gatesville and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, one son Elmer Lee Jackson two sisters Osha Lee Dyer and Shena Lawrence
