Charlie Shipley, age 74, of May, Texas, formerly of Odessa, Texas passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 in Brownwood, Texas. He was a beloved Husband, Brother, Daddy, and Pappaw. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 8 at Heartland Funeral Home in Early, Texas.
Charlie Eugene Shipley was born October 12, 1942 in Sundown, the son of Charlie and Merle Shipley. He was married to Lynda Shipley in 1983. He worked for himself as a machinist for 50 years. He was a member of the Odessa Chuck Wagon Gang. He loved hunting, and fishing, telling farfetched stories, riding motorcycles, building things, being with his family and friends, and blowing things up every 4th of July. Life with Shipley was never a dull moment. He will be missed by many.
Charlie is survived by his wife; Lynda Shipley of May, sister: Shirley Tindel and husband Johnny of Tennessee; children: Cindy Hearne of Lubbock, Sonya Robb and husband Tom of Andrews, Tressa Crisp of Las Vegas, NV, Mechelle Thurston and husband Richard of Fort Worth, Misty Barnes and husband Jim of Fayetteville, AR, Mike Sims and wife Shawna of Greenwood, Texas, and Jerry Sims and wife Kelly of Odessa;
13 Grandchildren: Dale, Eric, Blake, Dustin, Shannon, Gerald, Steven, Jessica, Taylor, Payton, Payslee, Parker, Alexis and Jax. Also by his faithful companion, Tuffy, and countless other family members and friends.
And in the end it’s not the years in your life that count; it’s the life in your years.
