Charles Arthur Darden, 82, of Rockwood, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016 in Rockwood. Charles was born on March 27, 1934 in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Florine Rowell Darden and Courtney Charles Darden. Charles was a retired airplane pilot for Pennzoil Oil and Gas, having served 30 plus years before his retirement. He loved being outdoors, especially when he was hunting and fishing. He was a member of Rockwood Baptist Church and was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, whom will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by wife of 52 years, Betty Cogburn Darden.
Survivors include three daughters Mona Dyer and husband, Max, of Cross Plains, Lacey McDowell and husband, Walter of Katy, Sandy Stelley of Lafayette, Louisiana, 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado, Arkansas. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Friendship Cemetery on Hopewell Road with Bro. James Coward officiating. Services are under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
