Charlene Spurlock Rinewalt, age 75, of Brownwood passed away Tuesday evening at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday in the Greenleaf Cemetery with Chaplain Dick Williams officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
She was born July 4, 1938 in Brownwood the daughter of the late Joe and Olevia Thompson Spurlock, and attended schools in Brownwood. She was baptized a Christian at an early age in the Pecan Bayou. She first married Ernest Harris in Goldthwaite and later married Dub Burleson in Brownwood, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Robert Rinewalt in Brownwood on September 2, 2000. She lived in Brownwood most of her life except for a short time in the Metroplex.
Charlene was known for her giving heart and became actively involved in hospice programs. She became the volunteer coordinator for Lighthouse Hospice and was also associated with the Visiting Nurses Association. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her children. She also volunteered for other charities because of her caring heart. She touched so many lives and will be missed by all.She is survived by her husband, Robert Rinewalt of Brownwood; “The Boys”, her Son, Steve Harris and partner Steve Puckett of Brownwood; Her Daughter, Debbie Roland of Midlothian; 2 Step-daughters – Kristi and Adam Fuller and Elizabeth and Brian Fields all of Lorena; 8 Grandchildren – Randi Ruud, Natalie Ruud, Sarah Roland, Ashlin Fields, ChandlerFuller, Landon Fields, Abigale Fuller, and Attison Fuller; and 2 Sisters – Frances Peters of Granbury and Jolene Brewer of Brownwood. She is also survived by her very close pet companions, Sarah and Winston
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Cheryl Harris.
