Charlene “Ann” Hunter of Bangs, Texas went to her eternal home on the evening of March 18, 2015 during her stay at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Ann was born November 9, 1946 in Brownwood, Texas to her late parents, Floyd L. “Smokey” Bullard and Onita Amelia Ann Davis Bullard. Ann shared 44 years of marriage with her husband, Jimmy R. Hunter. Ann had three daughters and two sons whom she loved. Her children include June Walker and husband Scott, Crystal Levisay and husband Lonnie, Amy Hamrick and Heath Allen, James Hunter and Sonya Lazzell, and Jimmy Lynn Pierce and wife Renessa. Ann was a 1965 graduate of Early High School. Ann was employed through the lamp factory in Bangs and later worked at the Kohler Company for 15 years. She was a member of the Bangs First Baptist Church. Ann fulfilled many different roles in her life. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend to many. Ann devoted much of her time to serve the needs of others. She truly adored spending her time surrounded by family and friends. Her grandchildren kept a special place in her heart as she always praised their accomplishments and was willing to spend any spare moments she had with them.
She is survived by her sister, Bobbie McCullough and husband Billy, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Javin, Jayce, and Jenna Walker, Lesley Howell, Lyndi and Laci Levisay, and Payton and Logan Hamrick, Tyler and Kinzie Pierce, and Gavin and Gentry Walker, Kynli Skaggs, nieces, Becki Williams, Beth Speed, and Boni McCullough, and numerous great nieces and nephews. Ann found the greatest pleasure in life’s simplest blessings. Some of Ann’s hobbies included crafting, reading, and sewing. Ann was a member of the Heart and Hands sewing club. She is preceded in death by her parents, Smokey and Onita Bullard, her nephew, Brad McCullough, and her great grandson, Graham Charles Walker.
Visitation will be held at Heartland Funeral Home Saturday, March 21, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral service for Ann will take place Sunday, March 22, at 2:30 pm and will be officiated by Brother Alan Speed of Jal, New Mexico.
