All charges were dismissed this week against local attorney Bill Ruth that have been pending since early 2013.
Ruth was indicted on the charge of barratry in January 2013 and on aggravated perjury in March 2013. A judge dismissed the last case against Ruth on June 3rd, now clearing Ruth of all charges.
Ruth has maintained his innocence and has fought the charges since being indicted. He said that he believes the charges are retaliatory in nature from another case he represented.
“It wasn’t by coincidence that I had these ridiculous charges made against me…” Ruth said in an email. “But those that displayed a lack of integrity will be facing the strong hand of justice.”
