The Center for Life Resources will be holding a Suicide Awareness and Prevention Seminar on Thursday, June 25th. The seminar, offered in two sessions, will be bringing awareness to suicide, highlighting warning signs and providing resources for prevention within our community.
Every day in the United States, a person dies every 13.3 minutes by suicide. Unfortunately suicide is more common than many people realize. In addition, there are close to one million people who attempt suicide annually. Suicide does not discriminate by age, gender, ethnicity, or socio-economic status. The Center for Life Resources will be offering two sessions of the seminar, one in the morning from 9 am to noon, and one in the evening from 6 to 9 pm. The sessions will be held in the TSTC Multipurpose room at the Brownwood campus. Attendees are welcome to bring a sack lunch or dinner to either session; light refreshments will be provided. The sessions are free and open to anyone who would like to attend. There is limited space available and preregistration is encouraged: email register@cflr.us or call 325-646-9574 ext. 296 to preregister.
