TSTC students are hard at work this week fabricating 17 new Christmas street pole decorations for the ornamental light poles on Center Avenue. A local architect designed the decorations, and TSTC welding students are volunteering their time outside of the classroom to build them.
Derek Little, Division Chair for the Manufacturing & Engineering Division at TSTC, is shown in the above photo testing the prototype decoration. Ornamental curves will be added to the tops and bottoms of the design, for the finished product. The decorations will be lined with red and white rope lighting, also installed by TSTC students.
The street light decorations are just one part of a Christmas Lighting Project spearheaded by the Chamber, and being made possible by many local partners, like TSTC.
