Celebration of life for Celia Martinez Salinas will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015, 10:00 am at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Family visitation will be Wednesday April 8, 2015, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm also at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
She went to the loving arms of her heavenly father on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015.
Celia was born to Ray and Cessaria Martinez on February 21, 1940 in Coleman, TX. She was raised in Burkett, TX. She moved to Plainview, TX with family where she completed her education and graduated from high school. While in Plainview she studied to become an LVN and practiced nursing in Plainview, Muleshoe, and Tahoka, TX where she met and married her husband Saragosa Salinas. After their marriage they chose to live in Brownwood where she continued her nursing practice at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her husband Saragosa, on June 21, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, GB Martinez, Frances Lopez, Julia Ramirez and Pertra Jamie.
She is survived by her precious daughter Helen Ferrer and spouse Sergio from Euless, TX; her sister, Teresa Martinez of Brownwood, TX; brother Paul Martinez of Wilson, OK; her loving nieces, Rachael Dodge of Lubbock, TX, Teri Bollinger and spouse Ronnie of Brownwood, TX ; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other family members from Tahoka, TX.
She will be fondly remembered by the staff and residents at Brownwood Nursing and Rehab including her special friend, Don Clapper.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
